Science Of Happiness
Alex, Cameron Awwad 1professor TrevorHumanities 12329 April 2014 Science of Happiness
Happiness is created through thoughts in the mind that are only worth what
mental toll. we give them I will be introducing how we assume we can find and
measure how people find happiness. Scientists believe that they can see what
make people the happiest by condoning tests, surveys, and simple scales taken by
regular people. Many studies have taken on this subject. Many collages have done
work on this subject, generally they can attempt to measure the brain activity
before and after a subject has done something that could spark happiness in an
individual. "Generally our studies have shown that after doing physical activities
such as sports that require much movement, people can concentrate better and
increase positive brain activity that usually creates a flow in
happiness."(Theeconomist.com, page1) What I find very interesting about this is
that this is a proven fact that can be backed up with data but still some people
choose a more artificial way of life, for example: playing on the computer more
than being outside when they can discover new things and creat a happiness flow.
Science is one of the ways to better understand happiness because through
science is the way we are able to see graphs that explain our brain activity when
confronted with happiness. Scientific breakthroughs are made everyday. One of
the ways that a scientific discovery had improved our wellbeing with knowledge
is that ,"being happy can speed up the process of healing with positive thinking, it
regenerates the brains state of mind and keeps sanity in
place."(Theeconomist.com,page3) This can increase peoples happiness because
we can learn that positive thinking creates positive health
results.
This can relate to me because I generally attempt to keep a positive view on
things because I would not like to be known as a person who seems cynical. I am
familiar with the science of happiness because of my fascination with anything
scientific. Others can benefit from this fascination with everything science
because it can give a sense of a willingness to learn, having this sense of wonder
can lead to many new discoveries in the future.
