Over the course of this externship experience I have learned a few things. I learned that I should never underestimate myself, work hard, make sure to check my grammar, give people a final product that I can brag about and to apply myself to everything I do. Although this externship was not nearly as easy as I thought it was gonna be, I definitely found it useful. It showed me that the biggest part of being a proffessional is being confident in anything I do. When people ask me to film and edit a video I would always answer with "yes" and "I'll get it done couch" even if in my head I am thinking that I definitely had my work cut out for me.

It was a very good experience because I learned a lot about time management and building credibility. I was a photographer for people who wanted photo shoots and I filmed and edited videos for people who's asked me too. Doing all of this made it very clear to me that my job would be hard if I didn't organize my work. Since there are many other people with cameras and the ability to take good pictures and videos, I had to make sure that I could keep up with others and have a goof reputation, because if I don't then no one will give me a "job." This has made me consider building a career in this field and I may build my college career around it.

Since he gave me this opportunity I have experienced how it might look to be a freelance photographer. This has made me consider making business for myself in the future. I may be able to use my college experience to help me create my own business and be my own boss.

This next picture of one of my "clients." I take multiple pictures of him in different places using various filters and angles. I send him his favorite pictures from the photo shoot. This is the place where I am filming my main project. I am making a video about this school and the people in it. The video is for the eighth graders that are going to be freshmen at this school. The video is meant to give these new students a sense of how the school works and the goals of the teachers.

The project still requires me to create a four to five minute video about my school (High Tech High International). I have been spending the last two weeks of this internship opportunity getting footage of the staff and students. I will be spending the next two weeks editing the footage and putting the final video to YouTube. I feel like putting this video together has taken a lot of effort from my part. I feel like having this experience has helped me see how important being organized is when ever I am doing something that requires planning. I feel like I have represented myself well in this project because I have been keeping slacking off to a minimal level and have been conducting myself in a professional manner.

Many would not like to do this job if they ares not passionate about it because it involves a lot of work and communication that at times can feel tedious. Personally I enjoy all the work that I am doing because this has been something that I have been interested in for a long time.
Originally I was trying to intern with an already established photographer. Since I have become a solo freelance photographer, I realize that I like the feeling of being "my own boss." This means I have the choice accept any "job" that someone asks me to do. This has helped me have a better of what I will want to do as a correar in the future. 5/11/2017 1 Comment Blog Post 2: I Found My PassionI have become the school camera man, I am usually asked by teachers to create videos. I spend my free time figuring out how to take initiative and getting artistic. So far I have been given the task of creating a video for a teacher that needed the video in the same day. The production of this video was fairly simple because I had filmed it on my Iphone 5, using Imovie to edit it.
So far my internship as a freelance camera man is fairly simple, it is easy to stay organized. I feel like this internship has helped me become more professional in the way I handle other peoples videos. I make sure to structure the video and create a style that the person I'm creating the video for will appreciate. I will continue to work in this style because so far it is very productive. 5/10/2017 1 Comment Blog post 1: Finding An externshipUnfortunately at the beginning of the day I had not found an internship. Since I had not found an internship I was looking and asking around until I was given an assignment by my engineering teacher. My assignment was to finish a puzzle that the other students have forgotten about. I had mostly worked alone, this bothered me at first but then I realized that this gave me more independence. My workplace is my school, this is both exciting and concerning to me. This is exciting to me because I will have more freedom and my teachers would be close in case I have any questions or concerns.
I was then asked to see the dean of our school because he had an assignment for me. He then told me that he would like to entrust me with the responsibility of creating a video of my school for the new, up and coming students that would like to join the High Tech system. Creating a professional video will be my permanent internship. |
