-House On Mango Street was a book that me and my class read for Humanities. This book was about a girl raised in a poor community that she did not like. The main source of her problems was her house, she felt burdened with the fact that she had do say she lived in the big dirty house. She struggled with the fact she was growing up and had to find a way to leave Mango Street before she got too old. I had mixed feelings about this book because I could not relate to it. I could not relate because I have never felt what she has felt.
-Sammy And Juliana was a book about a boy called Sammy and how he looses many things that he has come to love but learning valuable life lesions from them but he still struggles with loosing the people that he has come to love. He looses the person that he is sure is his one true love. This was only the begging of his loss. I thought that this was a book with really good lessons on life like love this people that you know because you don't know what they can teach you.
-Antigone was a play about a leader that defeated his enemy dead in the open for everyone to see. The sister of the dead man wants to make sure that her brother is respected no matter what it takes in death. the king had said that he does not want anyone to barry the dead man so that everyone will know what the king can do. The sister of the dead man buried him and the king found out so he had her put in a tomb and after long he realized that he had done the wrong thing so he decides that will let the girl go but it is too late because she had killed her self already. I liked this book because of the messages that it had for everyone.
-I chose the book called Jobs. This is book is an autobiography about Steve Jobs, the man who created the Apple company. Steve jobs started off small with just an idea in collage but he believes that he can do anything with the right help. So he decides that he can assemble a crew of people including his friend Waz. Steve jobs then invented the apple computer and after that his business sky rocketed so he took charge and started making calls for the company. I liked this book because it shows you so much can happen if you truly believe in something and want to make it great.
-The Giant Within is a book about yourself and how you can make yourself. This book gives examples of other people that have changed there lives by adventuring and believing that they are there own bosses. I liked this book because its lessons are universal. This book helped me get a sense of wonder instead of beinf desensitized.
